I’m trying to get my Patreon numbers up a bit, so I’m going to repeat an idea I had previously, but make it a permanent offer. Patreon backers already get copies of each new book as they happen (either as ebooks or as physical books depending on reward level), but if the amount per blog post I get on the front page goes up to $100 and stays there for a month, I will collect together *all* my books and short stories (minus those that I don’t have exclusive copyright for) into one ebook packet and make it available for all Patreon backers, and that offer is now indefinite.
That means that if this happens, all Patreon backers will get ebook copies of
The Beatles In Mono (which I’m planning to take off the market very soon because I don’t like it, so this may be the only way to get it soon)
The three Beach Boys books
Preservation: The Kinks’ Music 1964-1974
California Dreaming: The LA Pop Music Scene And The Sixties
An Incomprehensible Condition: An Unauthorised Guide To Grant Morrison’s Seven Soldiers
Sci-Ence! Justice Leak!
Welcome To The Multiverse: An Unauthorised Look At Grant Morrison’s Multiversity
Destroyer: A Black Magic Story (novel)
Ideas And Entities (short story collection)
Fifty Stories For Fifty Years: An Unauthorised Look At Doctor Who
Faction Paradox: Head of State (which Stuart at Obverse kindly allowed me to make available to backers)
The Black Archive: The Mind Robber (likewise)
Doctor Watson Investigates: The Case of the Scarlet Neckerchief
And the otherwise uncollected short stories Guys And Dholes, Brood-Mother Knows Best, Better Days, Last Kiss, and Ten Things You’ll Only Get If You’re A 50s Kid.
We might also throw in an ebook copy of my wife Holly’s soon-to-be-released book about her experiences as an immigrant, Hostile Environment.
Please note, incidentally, that while Patreon *says* I get $90 per blog post, that’s… a little misleading at best. People can (and do) put limits on what they pay in a month, entirely reasonably. So while my first paid post this month, the first Prometheans post, gets $92 in pledges, the next paid post I make (which will be later today) gets $29.50 in pledges. That’s just in case anyone’s wondering “who does he think he is, wanting $100 for every post? That’s ludicrous” — what it’ll actually mean in practice is that in a busy month I might get $25 for the last post of the month rather than $20, and it’ll push my income from this site from the $300-$400 per month range it’s currently in maybe up to the $400-$450 range.
Anyway, if you think that sounds like a good deal (and remember, you can limit what you pay per month, so you can sign up to just pay $1 for the first post of the month and nothing thereafter), you can sign up and back me here
The Beatles In Mono (which I’m planning to take off the market very soon because I don’t like it, so this may be the only way to get it soon)
For what it’s worth, I like this book enough that I’ve read my copy at least three times, possibly four. So I think it’s worth leaving on the market.
