    That last link is basically a longer, more articulate version of my immediate response to the question which that entropy always increases because that’s what entropy does :) Some of my Thermodynamics course did sink in!

      Yeah – entropy always increasing is something that seems completely intuitive to me, but which is at the same time possibly the most profound result in the whole of science. That was one of the clearer explanations I’ve seen of it.
