    Pierce endears himself to me instantly by including Phantom of the Paradise on there. Then he clinches it by heavily favoring Martin Scorsese, Charlie Kaufman (the writer, not director, of Being John Malkovich, Adaptation, and Eternal Sunshine…) and film noir. I would have probably had more Coen brothers and David Cronenberg, but that’s a list that’s very close to my heart.
