Sci-Ence! Justice Leak!

Another streaming ‘radio show’

Posted in music by Andrew Hickey on October 6, 2012

I had difficulty getting the last one to embed, so I’m not going to try that again, I’ll just link you to this, my second seventy-minute long streaming mix.

What I find interesting doing these is that even though they’re completely unplanned — I don’t think about what song to put next til after I’ve edited the previous one in — themes seem to develop almost in spite of anything I do. There’s also wonderful little bits of serendipity — like listening to an Orson Welles radio show to see if there’s anything I can use as a link, and finding the perfect introduction to Surf’s Up.

This one’s almost all sunshine pop, powerpop, folk-rock, soft psych and that kind of stuff, but if I keep doing these there’ll be plenty of other types of music included. I actually tried adding in a jazz track to this one but it completely unbalanced the feel of the mix.

Let me know what you think, if you listen to it.
