The main reason for linkblogginess today (other than me being off work ill) is that if I do a linkblog now, my post on the White Album (discussing all thirty tracks) which will take a couple of days to write, can be a Super Special Anniversary Post, as it will be my 400th since I started this blog in July ’08.
Dave Page (whose new blog is linked in my sidebar) is very unimpressed with the PPC’s behaviour over Jan Moir, over on LDV. More on this at Unspeak, Enemies Of Reason and Millennium.
A reasoned examination of the possibility of artificial flight.
Andrew Rilstone reviews a Martin Carthy gig.
Cameron Stewart has the opening pages of Batman & Robin 9.

He may well have been born in Germany of German parents, but surely it’s stretching it a bit to claim old Heinz Burt for the German pop team, what with him being here since he was a little ‘un and making his name with the very British Joe Meek. I’m pretty sure he was practically unknown in Germany; then again, there are more than a few famous German “Schlager” singers who are really Brits and could cheerfully walk down Tottenham Court Road on a Saturday afternoon without being recognised.

This clip also answers the question that we all pondered when we were 14 “What would Top of the Pops be like if it was presented by Bamber Gascoigne?” Significantly better, it seems.
If I get through to the second round, and I can track down an MP3, that might well be in with a shot as my entry…
I could supply you with a copy, but actually this might be a bit more “stop ‘em in their tracks” http://open.spotify.com/track/55ae2dIAZUYcjt3sXE1tIM
